Founders
Epidemic Answers was started by Beth Lambert and Michelle Tortora, two mothers of children with chronic illnesses. Beth had two young children with significant food allergies, gut dysbiosis and immune dysregulation that resulted in inflammatory bowel disease and a variety of chronic symptoms. Through a variety of healing modalities (including diet, supplements, energy medicine, homeopathy, and others) Beth’s children have recovered from their chronic illnesses. Beth is a former healthcare consultant and teacher. While recovering her children from their health issues, Beth was writing her master’s thesis on the epidemic of chronic illness in American children. That thesis has since become a book entitled: A Compromised Generation: The Epidemic of Chronic Illness in America’s Children.
Before becoming a full-time mom, Michelle was an associate in marketing operations for JPMorgan Chase. When Michelle’s son was diagnosed at 18 months old with autism spectrum disorder, she began a journey of discovery into the root causes of his condition. Using a combination of the gluten free/casein free diet, supplements, developmental and occupational therapies her son is recovered. Michelle also has a neurotypical daughter who suffered from food allergies, inflammation and chronic ear infections. Armed with the knowledge that her son’s autism symptoms stemmed from gut dysbiosis and immune dysregulation, Michelle was able to apply similar healing protocols to her daughter with great results. Read the story of how Michelle is recovering her children here.
