While all our children exhibit a variety of different symptoms and need individualized advice on diet and nutrition, many of us start in the same place–eliminating food allergens from the daily diet. This can be an incredibly difficult step to take as some of the most common food allergens (e.g., egg, dairy, wheat, soy, nuts) are in so many of the foods we commonly eat, especially processed foods. Eliminating allergens from the diet is a critical step in the healing process because it reduces inflammation and excess burden and stress on the immune system.
